Meet The Team

Car Friend was created by Matt & Gem in 2012. Their enthusiasm & knowledge of cars, coupled with their determination for outstanding customer service were good solid foundations to build their business. Matt was backed by ten years of building podium winning race cars  & Gem from management in sales & service for blue chip companies. The pair decided to open 'Car Friend' and have never looked back. 

Due to there fantastic reputation for both quality workmanship & outstanding service levels, Car Friend has grown considerably in just a short amount of time.

This is Gemma.  She is a massive petrol head, a wife & a mum. She knows all there is to know about repairing your car. You're in good hands with Gem. Plus, she will always try and save you money! Her job is to make sure you have the best possible experience. Gem does a lot of stuff behind the scenes like accounts, HR, marketing, the website & social media. A mum to 7 (2 kids, 4 cats & a dog) she has a lot of love to give but her passion besides family and friends is fast cars!


Say hello to Matt! He is the king of all things mechanical at Car Friend. Matt has huge amounts of experience building and repairing endurance race cars, what he doesn't know about cars often isn't worth knowing! He is hilarious, he is professional, & is often referred to as a 'legend' He is most definitely a perfectionist in everything he does. A true devoted family man with a huge heart. He loves his job, If Matt had his way he would let customers pay in Chocolate - A self confessed chocoholic and magician - he makes is dispensary faster than the speed of light!


 Vicki joined in summer 2016, Vicki is the office angel making sure everything runs smoothly - ordering parts,getting quotes and dealing with customers. Vicki has a contagious laugh and is always happy! She hates giving bad news to customers and genuinely only wants whats best. Over the years Vicki has shown amazing dedication to our customers and they really do love her. In her spare time Vicki loves all things girly from hair to make up and everything that sparkles - she is a true diamond, A massive part of the Car Friend Family


Ash joined us in 2020 and is a true asset to our team. He shares our passion for customer service and his work is second to none. With 10+ years experience there isn't a lot he doesn't know. Ash is always happy. A true family man. You can always hear Ash singing in the workshop and actually he isn't that bad! The same can't be said for his jokes! When you meet ah you will feel like you have known him forever - A truly genuine guy. 


 Tom Joined our team in 2019 as an apprentice. He loves cars almost as much as we do. Tom is showing the signs of becoming a great mechanic. He makes a great cup of coffee too. Tom is the youngest of us and we often go to him for advice on how we keep it real with the younger generation. Tom has a real passion for everything 'Mini' especially the old classics. Tom is always happy and enthusiastic and a real valued member of our team.

TTR Garage Services are looking to recruit the next and newest member of our team. While the right candidate will learn all aspects of business administration and gain the relevant qualifications along the way, they will also be part of a highly skilled team. As our business expands, thanks to our commitment to high service levels in all areas of our business, we are looking to bring a new member to our already amazing team, to push more boundaries and grow even more. Knowledge of cars is not expected or essential for this role all industry specific knowledge training where required will be provided. We are looking for someone with administration, organisational & interpersonal skills for this role.

The role will involve working independently and as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal and external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allow the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.

The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. The business administrator should also show initiative and be able to manage priorities and their own time, as well as demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making skills together with the potential for people management responsibilities, through mentoring or coaching others.

Business administrator duties will include:

  • Answering the phone – Taking messages, dealing with customer enquiries & speaking to suppliers.

  • Ordering parts and arranging returns.

  • Filing & organising paperwork and maintaining internal documents

  • Stock checks

  • General housekeeping – Making tea & Coffee etc

  • Using the computer to manage & maintain customer records

  • Liaising with customers face to face

  • General admin support for sales admin & office manager

  • Photocopying

  • Scanning

  • Emailing information and messages to staff & Customers

  • IT duties using Microsoft package including Outlook, Excel and Word

  • Emailing, Filing and Compliance checks.


The Role will be a 30 hour per week contract, Monday – Friday 9:45am – 4.15pm with a 30 minute break  although the right candidate should be flexible in their ability to change & adapt working hours to suit the needs of the business.
